Googly is a film released in 2013. Indian Kannada love story in Kannada, directed by Pavan Wadeyar and produced by Jayanna Combines, starring Yash and Kriti Kharbanda as the main actors. Ananth Nag and Sadhu Kokila are the main supporting actors. The film was released on July 19th, 2013.

The film received multiple nominations in the 3rd South Indian International Movie Awards. After being recognized in 11 different categories, the film was awarded SIIMA prizes for Best Direction (Pavan Wadeyar) and the Best Cinematographer (Vaidi S.), and Best Songwriter (Pavan Wadeyar), and Best Fight Choreographer (Ravi Varma).

The sequel to this film is currently being made and titled Googly-2. The film is currently being made to be remade in Bengali from Eskay Movies.

Sharath ( Yash)is an amiable guy who rarely has friends due to his erratic personality. He doesn’t like girls but loves affection. He lives his life in the way he would like to. One day, he was chosen to represent his school in the Global Business Seminar meet since he is the top performer of his school. When he steps into the packed auditorium, he is bored by the program and begins to fall into a deep sleep.

As soon as his name is mentioned and he wakes up to the sound of Swathi ( Kriti Kharbanda), who is an MBBS student. He then delivers an amusing speech to thank Swathi for getting him up. After this meeting, they become friends and begin to love one another.

After some time, Sharath begins to question every move of Swathi. One day Swathi gets injured, and the situation becomes more complicated when he mistakenly believes Swathi’s friend as her boyfriend in a hospital where she’s undergoing treatment. In the end, Sharath is furious and hits Swathi

As opposed to other guys who think about his ex-girlfriend, Sharath takes this as an opportunity and dedicates his time studying and becomes a booming business tycoon in a couple of years.

After a couple of years, he realizes his error of damaging Swathi and seeks to make amends with her by offering his apologies to her via a phone call on her birthday. He’s disappointed to learn that Swathi is engaged to someone else and does not have a love for him. Then, he travels back to India to attend a friend’s wedding. He is shocked to see Swathi.

He discovers that they will be attending the same ceremony. In a subsequent conversation with Swathi, he learns that Swathi was lying to him about her engagement to eliminate him since she could not muster the ability to feel heartbroken should Sharath have to break up with her again following a reconciliation. So, he attempts to win her love again. Swathi then decides to do; however, on the way home, a group of gangsters brutally beaten by Sharath to break up two lovers assault him. After accepting Sharath at the hospital, Swathi offers blood donations to Sharath.

Sharath’s mom confronts Swathi at the hospital, and she goes home in tears without informing anyone. Sharath finds her at the train station with the help of the media. She explains that she lost her mobile, purse, and ticket at the station; Sharath informs her that she’s mourning her loss despite having to go through such a lot of pain to locate her. Sharath tells the story of this small thing humorously. They reconcile, and the movie ends with them being united.
